"Ethiopian Yellow Sun on Green Coffee Beans"
Seven Stacks of Green Coffee Beans on Wood with Yellow Paint with Fairtrade Coffee Sack from Ethiopia tied with Coffee Stained Cotton String
66 x 50cm (approx)

The installation celebrates the process of coffee harvesting. The raw green coffee beans are pierced and presented in seven stacks to suggest the weekly and ongoing farming season. The splash of yellow on the wood refers to the essential role of the sun in the growing cycle. The used Hessian coffee sack presents both a functional aesthetic and refers to the organic landscape. The piece also incorporates the role of water in the making of coffee by the inclusion of string stained by a cup of fairtrade Americano.
