In my image the abstracted coffee stain also acts as a simple graphical metaphor for the basic elements required to grow coffee. The coffee stain itself represents the Earth - its many layers and substrates. Beneath the Earth, the blue represents water with the yellow representing the sun. When all the elements are in place, the coffee plants can grow. The abstracted splatter marks represent a coffee plant growing out from the earth with spherical beans in their main colour stages of green, red and brown.
