"Abstraction of Coffee Seedlings"
Pen and Ink on Heavyweight paper
59 x 84cm

Simplified - coffee seeds are beans that haven’t been processed.  My image is an abstracted graphical representation of coffee seedlings in their earliest stages of growth and the many different types of soil they are grown in around the world.  The number of seedlings I’ve drawn is significant as well, representing what the National Coffee Association call the “Ten Steps from Seed to Cup.”
Planting, Harvesting, Processing, Drying, Milling, Exporting, Tasting, Roasting, Grinding and finally…Brewing.  Enjoy!
