"Mind Games"
Acrylic and ink on canvas
24 x 18 cm

As working alone in my studio is such a solitary occupation, I like to go to life drawing sessions at least once a week. Not only is it useful for maintaining my observational skills, it is also very enjoyable to meet up with my fellow artists.
During the session we have at least two coffee breaks and at its conclusion we all, including our model, head to our local coffee shop to unwind. Our models are invariably very interesting people, quite often foreigners and all with great stories to tell.
As we exchange goodbyes and part to go our separate ways I not only feel in equal parts exhilarated and artistically re-energised, but also mentally exhausted. I am however already looking forward to the next week’s session.
