The motivation behind my work is the connections that coffee/the coffee shop experience creates, between people, places, art, music, ourselves etc.  I began by asking friends and family what coffee/the coffee shop means to them and used their responses as the foundation for my piece.  I thought about the places that coffee is grown and the subsequent relationship built between countries.
