Café Window
Photographic giclee print on lustre paper
20” x 13.5”
“Café Window” is part of a project, photographing what goes on through London’s well-lit windows after dark.
This black and white photograph was taken outside Fratelli’s – a café on Aldwych. This woman caught my eye because
of the expression on her face and because she and the man she is sitting with aren’t talking to each other. They could
have been meeting for a cup of coffee, killing time before going to the theatre or taking refuge from the busy crowds.
Cafés or coffee shops provide respite from the world and a chance to meet and talk... or not.
