"Nature morte, Memory and Coffee"

Three years ago my lover wrote these few words about coffee and love on the back of an envelope, in the morning, before he went to work. I don’t know why, but I have kept this paper until today. We were not used to drinking a coffee together, but I have always had the feeling that he was close to me when I had my breakfast. Even if he was absent every morning, his cup and coffee stains on the table, were a material sign of his presence. It made me feel good, happy, and in love.
