‘Women’s Coffee’ is my inspiration for the artwork. Seed to cup journey starts with coffee farmers. Despite contributing up to 70% of the labour required to plant, grow and harvest coffee, women farmers rarely own land or the coffee bushes that tend – they usually belong to the men in the family, and as a result women are unable to join faring co-operatives or earn an income for their labour. The artwork aims viewers to think about the process before sipping coffee.
