For this piece, I used as a starting point my interest in Kandinsky’s art. my passion for
drinking coffee and coffee culture in general. I often take on “Concerning the Spiritual
in Art” by Kandinsky with me to read when I have my morning coffee. I also enjoy
using coffee as a creative material. Passages have been included into the coffee cup itself, and extracts of Kandinsky’s life biography have been layered into the background image. An artistic experience should encompass all the senses and not just eyesight.
