This painting was inspired by one of my favorite places I've visited: The Corcora Valley in the coffee region of Colombia. While I was there I met this man, Don Elias, a farmer who runs an organic coffee farm with his family. I had the opportunity to tour Señor Elias' farm (and try his coffee!) and I was struck by his genuine happiness and joy for what he does. I tried to capture that feeling in this piece- as well as the beauty of the Cocora Valley, including the unique wax palms (the tallest palms on Earth!)
