In this self-portrait Jean-Antoine talks about this moment when drinking a coffee, we feel the warmth of the coffee inside the cup with our hands. We feel the warmth of the liquid penetrating into our body and get the sensation of being strengthened and energized. Taking sips, we look inside the coffee cup and allow our minds to wander around in a meditative state. This drawing in charcoal is part of a body of work, which focuses on life energy forces. Those are the invisible forces, which are at the origin of life.
