My painting is really a most personal connection with the coffee making process. I am an avid coffee drinker and love painting cafes of other coffee drinkers. But this year I got a chance to actually pick a basket of coffee beans on a Finca in Concordia, Colombia.  I had no idea even that ripe coffee fruit looks a lot like red grapes when they are ready to harvest.  I thought a lot about my adventure when I composed this painting.  It is of a lovely South American woman picking the fruit off the coffee plant.
