When I was seventeen, during a trip to visit an aunt in Turkey, I learned to read coffee grounds. Twenty years later, in Cairo, I started to also read espresso in coffee cups. For some years now, I have been photographing the cups, collecting the readings and thinking about the placement of them in an exhibition. This work is part of that series. The title is the reading of the cup.
