This dynamic multi-layered painting in timeless monochrome depicts my favourite barista - Anibal from the Canary Islanda - at work in a London coffee house I adore: The Watch House, Bermondsey. A small, perfectly formed space, it was once used for guarding the neighbouring graveyard from body snatchers. The EU stars on the take-away cups are a nod to the Brexit vote. Will it reduce the number of wonderful European baristas whose passion, expertise and flair have breathed life into our previously anodyne coffee culture?
